The Destiny 2 rumor mill is slowly churning to life, fueled by a handful of leaked Mega Bloks set descriptions, and Bungie filing new legal paperwork that has fans wondering if an official Destiny convention is on the way. Here’s what we know.

Earlier this week, possible descriptions of three unreleased Destiny Mega Bloks sets -- which have yet to be confirmed by Bungie or Mattel -- described a scenario not featured in any of the Destiny content releases from the last two-and-a-half years. The set apparently depicts a battle between Lord Shaxx and the Cabal Red Guard, fought inside the Tower hangar. A place where players have never seen the Cabal, or any minions of the Darkness for that matter, since Destiny debuted back in 2014.

Here’s the text, via The Bloks Forum:

Set the scene for a clash between a Bruiser's crushing strength and a master swordsman's skill

A legendary warrior faces his greatest contest yet in the Tower hangar

Wielding his Raze-Lighter, hero of the Crucible Lord Shaxx prepares to pit his blade against the furious cleavers of a Cabal Red Guard

It’s obviously not much to go on. But an invasion of the Tower would explain prior rumors that the unannounced Destiny sequel could be set entirely outside of Earth’s orbit.

Elsewhere, DualShockers spotted a new trademark filing from Bungie to claim ownership of the name “DestinyCon” in relation to fan conventions to celebrate the game. Some took the move as as an opening salvo against GuardianCon, an event organized by popular Destiny streamers ProfessorBroman and King Gothalion. For their part, GuardianCon’s organizers believe the filings aren’t actually indicative of any firm plans from Bungie. The fan-run Destiny convention was asked to change its name last year, from Destiny Community Con to GuardianCon, and the new trademark filing would give Bungie further legal backing for future requests (if needed). The renamed fan show heads to the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall at the end of June.

Destiny 2 is believed to be in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
