There are still a few weeks left before the official release of EA Sports F1 23. We've already seen some of its exciting features like F1 World and Braking Point. But this time, we're getting a better look at the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Once this new racing location makes its virtual debut, everyone gets a chance to try out this circuit ahead of the Grand Prix. It's going to be the first time in the history of Formula 1 that cars get to race on the iconic Las Vegas Strip.
In a statement, Codemasters Senior Creative Director Lee Mather shared that the team was able to design a wonderful virtual recreation of what can be considered as one of the world's most exciting cities. He added that the sheer scale and density of the buildings present in Las Vegas was a challenge and took more than 1,900 days of cumulative development time to reach that level of authenticity.
You can explore the new track courtesy of the video below:
The Las Vegas Strip Circuit in the game was made by the team from the ground up using thousands of reference photos along with substantial photogrammetry data. The circuit has three straights, a high-speed cornering sequence, and a single chicane section.
The average speed around this track is expected to be the same as the original "Temple of Speed," Italy's Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Drivers get to race across this 6.12-kilometer circuit reaching speeds of as much as 212 miles per hour. The high stakes circuit also poses a unique challenge to racers, and as they hit top speed on the Las Vegas Strip, they get to pass some world-famous landmarks, casinos, and resorts.
In celebration of this iconic track, there's going to be time-limited Las Vegas-themed items including a special livery, helmet, gloves, and hat. It's available for those who pre-order the F1 23 Champions Edition before May 31. In addition to the time-limited F1 23 Las Vegas Content Pack, the Champions Edition also has:
- 3 days early access with Early Access XP Double Boost
- Max Verstappen exclusively designed in-game items
- 4 New My Team Racing Icons
- Braking Point 2 My Teams Iconic + Vanity Items
- XP Boost
- F1 World Bumper Pack
- Virtual Currency 0 18,000 PitCoin
