PUBG: Battlegrounds is all set to introduce a new category of tactical items known as Tactical Gear. This one is going to offer players different options to improve in-game performances. This item takes up the primary weapon slots, which should allow players to develop some interesting long-term strategies. For now, two have been introduced which are the Drone and EMT Gear.
Scouting Ahead
The Drone is a Tactical Gear that lets players scout from a distance safely. It can also be used to pick up an item while avoiding direct combat. This item spawns in every map and is available in Normal Matches, Custom Games, Training Mode, and Sandbox Mode.
Using this item is pretty straightforward. Once players loot and equip the drone, they can then hold the Drone Tablet in their hands. Players can then toggle in and out of Drone View. Once in Drone View, the Drone launches into the air. While the Drone allows the player to avoid combat, the item is going to be visible to others. It not only makes noise but also has a unique blinking light. In addition, a deployed Drone can be identified on the map and minimap through a unique drone icon. Once players decide to control the Drone, their characters stop moving so be sure to be in a safe place when flying it.
The Drone has a maximum HP of 35 and can take damage from various things that include:
- Gunfire
- Explosions
- Fire
- Water
- Flying outside of the operation radius
- Vehicle collision
Once the HP reaches 0, the Drone falls to the ground and gets destroyed. Players need to retrieve it and then repair it to use it again.
Better Healing
The second Tactical Gear is the EMT Gear. This lets players have the choice to have increased healing potential not only for both themselves but also the team. However, doing so lowers combat flexibility.
Like the Drone, the EMT Gear spawns on every map. In addition, there will be two stacks of bandages spawning alongside it. This item is available in Normal Matches, Custom Games, Training Mode, and Sandbox Mode.
The thing about the EMT Gear is that players receive passive benefits whether they're holding it or have it stowed away. Benefits include:
- It only takes 3 seconds to use healing items such as bandages, First Aid Kits, and Med Kits.
- It only takes 3 seconds to revive a knocked-down teammate.
- Players can walk much faster when using healing items than normal.
- Bandages and First Aid Kits can heal players to max health.
- Med Kits give a full boost to players.
When equipped, players get the ability to interact with damaged teammates. Details include:
- Players can spend one of their own healing items on their teammate.
- Players can toggle between different healing items on the bottom screen where a weapon’s fire mode would normally be displayed.
