Rainbow Six Siege’s Colorful tournament just concluded its final playday for winner bracket matches. The tournament has a prize pool of $1,500, which is a pretty high amount for the South Asia competitive scene. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all the matches will be held online instead of the more traditional LAN environment. The prize pool of the tournament will be split and awarded to the top two teams who will compete in the finals. You can find the prize pool details here.
The ongoing Colorful tournament is a double-elimination based competition, where teams will have to win every match or drop down to the loser bracket. You can watch live streams of every game on the Colorful Bangladesh Facebook page.
The final playday had a really exciting rematch between MercenarieZ and Virtual5 Esports. We got to see both of these teams play in the semi-finals and now they face off for first place. V5 had a map advantage during the finals, as they went through the winner bracket. The match was played on Coastline, which is a very frag-heavy map. The match was really fun for viewers to watch, as we got to see two really frag-heavy teams just use their guns. MrcZ were on their best today, which allowed them to win most gunfights. MrcZ took the first map with a 7-4 scoreline.
The second map was played on Oregon, which is a defender-sided map due to the current shield meta. MrcZ was able to go 2-3 on their attacking half, which is decent. But unlike the semi-finals, V5 learned from their mistakes. V5 was able to counter MrcZ really well, which allowed V5 to take the map with a 7-5 scoreline.
The third map was played on Villa, which is a utility-heavy map. V5 was able to win Villa with ease during the semi-finals, but not this time. MrcZ demolished V5 in terms of gunfights and strategy, proving their strength on Villa with a 7-0 clean sweep.
The final map was played on Clubhouse, which MrcZ is very confident in. The match started out with V5 winning two rounds, but after that, V5 was unable to touch MrcZ as MrcZ went to win every other round. MrcZ won the final map with a 7-2 scoreline, granting them the series win.
