Rainbow Six Siege's North American League 2020 stage two concluded its third playday and the results are here. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the matches have been held online. The North American League had some really exciting matches to watch this week, with all the matches played as a best of three format. We got to see a variety of maps in play, teaching us new strategies that can be implemented into our own games.
The matchup between Oxygen Esports and Disrupt Gaming was the most anticipated match of the third playday. The first map was played on Theme Park, which Oxygen took with a scoreline of 7-4. Gabriel "LaXInG" Mirelez was the most influential player on the first map, carrying OXG with 16 kills playing Jager and Hibana.
The second map between Oxygen and Disrupt was played on Villa, which is a utility-heavy map. Disrupt was able to counter OXG with ease, as OXG has a similar attacking pattern as the previous round. It was surprising to see Disrupt come out on top for once, but the match was pretty close in terms of score. Disrupt won the map with a 7-5 scoreline, forcing both teams play the third map to decide a winner.
The decider map between OXG and Disrupt was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky. Kafe is a map that favors defenders heavily, but OXG was so dominant that they were able to go 5-1 on their attacking split. OXG took the decider map with a 7-3 scoreline.
Another good match to watch was between Soniqs and eUnited. The first map was played on Oregon, which eUnited took with ease. Both teams didn’t show anything special in terms of strategies, but eUnited was able to win most of their gunfights. The second map was played on Consulate, which is an attacker-sided map. This match went all the way to overtime only for eUnited to win their attack on the final round.
